When we fail to manage our energy well it’s often fuelled by our own short-term thinking.
We find it so tempting to push our energy beyond healthy limits because it seems completely do-able in the moment.
Of course, we all face times in our careers when we have to work harder in the short-term than would be healthy in the long-term. But it can be easy to forget the need to recover from these times and course-correct back to a sustainable level. Without this, our ‘new normal’ sets us up on a problematic trajectory towards a ‘crash and burn’ future.
